Synopsis: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is an epic myth of a priceless stolen sword, a mystifying martial arts technique and love. The journey begins after the sword, "The Green Destiny," is stolen and Chow Yun-Fat and Michelle Yeoh begin to chase after the sword, which has been lifted by the governor's daughter. The two soon realize the governoršs daughter has been trained in a secret form of martial arts by Yun-Fat's archrival, Jade Fox. The story follows Yun-Fat and Yeoh as they track the governor's daughter and avoid their affections for each other. When they finally catch up to the thief, they try to make her aware of the power she has. If she fails to use her power wisely, she will become evil. This martial arts movie not only deals with technique, honor and tradition, it digs into the characters hopes and fears. The movie is an extravagant epic that combines a number of stories into a complete picture and is pure pleasure on screen.

"Crowe was not being rewarded for his performance in Gladiator, but rather his LAC, Insider, and Gladiator put together. Tom Hanks is going to win the oscar next year for Road to Perdition, Sam Mendez is no fluke. If you wanna whine about something winning that didn't deserve it, complain about Gladiator for best picture. Traffic wins oscars for directing, screenplay, and editing, not to mention del toro's for supporting actor and the SAG award for best ensemble. Why vote for Gladiator over Traffic when it wins the other awards? "
